Numbers trap

“Money is numbers and numbers never end. If it takes money to be happy, your search for happiness will never end.” ― Bob Marley I just saw Nas Daily episode no 858 where he described an IDEA as “number trap”. For next one hour I tried searching about it in the internet. Then next one hour I tried thinking about it. Then eventually I made up my mind to write something about it. According to Nas whenever we give some one 5Euro it make them happy till the point they think that is not enough for them. And they now want more to become happy as they were before, and it was such a simple thing that we all knew but we don’t accept it. The number trap is kind of which consumes us. Numbers provide instant gratification and without thinking a much we think that we tend to like it more, we discuss more about the things which are used by many. If I take this IDEA from Nas and try to understand why development project fail after initial successes this could be a reason which was hid...

Appreciative Inquiry is an approach that focuses on identifying what is working well, analyzing why it is working well and then doing more of it. The basic tenet of AI is that an organization will grow in whichever direction that people in the organization focus their attention. If all the attention is focused on problems, then identifying problems and dealing with them is what the organization will do best. Why Use Interview as research tool?

Image
Interview method as a qualitative research tool Interview method is the most common format of data collection in qualitative research. Qualitative interview are either semi-structured, lightly structured or in-depth. Unstructured interviews are generally done in conducting long-term field work and allow respondents to express themselves in their own ways and pace, with minimal hold on respondents’ responses. Unstructured interview resembles a conversation more than an interview and is always thought to be a “controlled conversation” which is skewed towards the interests of the interviewer. Semi-structured interviews are based on semi-structured interview guide, which is a schematic presentation of questions or topics and need to be explored by the interviewer. To achieve optimum use of interview time, interview guides serve the useful purpose of exploring many respondents more systematically and comprehensively as well as to keep the interview focused on the desired line of acti...

1ST INTERACTION WITH OTHER

As a student during my studies I have heard drag king and queens who cross-dresses to amuse others. Long ago I learned about how Hijra’s who are distinct community of people who are thought to be marginalised and have different way of earning money. People call them beggars but calling them beggars would comparing them with priest as both give blessing upon getting the money and many of my known people found blessing of Hijras auspicious also there are instances where people says how curse of Hijras have brought bad omens to their family. I have never interacted with hijras except once when they asked for money and I refused and astonishingly after that no one ever approached me for money. I don’t know the reason but it makes me curious.     Moving forward to recent past when I joined an organisation which support a LGBTKH(lesbian gay bisexual transgender kothi) community I came across people who identify themselves as transgender and It confused me as I used think that af...

Research is no rocket science but it addressing your inquisitive nature. A research can be done anywhere and anyway to satisfy ones needs and people who gossip are the excellent example they are most apt for any personal research about their known people.  But the type of research that I am going to address here is more of a professional and academic one. The limit is not known to me and I don’t claim to be cent percent true but for understanding purposes there are two main goals for research. 1. Academic reasons 2. Professional reasons.  1. Academic reason are those which include writing for Master Thesis, PhD thesis and doing Post-doctoral research.  2. Professional research all other research except above fall in this category.
